— Backed by their own, unofficial revenue projections, Republicans pushed an $11.3 billion budget through the Legislature.

  • A public employee's total compensation would be subject to public scrutiny under legislation sent to Gov. Kathleen Sebelius.

  • Local governments could no longer prosecute people for transporting unloaded firearms in a closed container under legislation given final approval.
  • A key ingredient for making methamphetamine no longer will be within easy reach of the public under a bill that cleared the Legislature.
