Topeka ? State Rep. Tom Sloan, a Lawrence Republican, will speak Friday to members of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission during a meeting in Dallas.

Sloan will be the only elected official to address FERC commissioners; other participants will represent electric companies.

Sloan said his comments will focus on the need to develop wind energy and ensuring that Kansas consumers have low-cost electricity.
