Missing father, son found dead in slough

Minot, N.D. — Authorities have recovered the bodies of a father and son who apparently drowned in a large slough southeast of Minot.

Theodore Gibson, 29, and his son, Thomas, 5, were last seen Saturday when they went kayaking on the slough near Max.

The bodies were recovered around 9 p.m. Monday, said Capt. Willie Graham with the Ward County Sheriff’s Department.

Theodore Gibson was in the Army and had been stationed at Fort Riley, Kan. He was home on leave.
