Jury chosen in Wichita quadruple murder case

? A jury of seven men and five women have now been picked for the capital murder trial of Jonathan and Reginald Carr, although jury selection will continue as attorneys seek four alternates.

Testimony in the trial could begin Friday or Monday depending on how quickly the rest of the jury selection process goes. Jury selection began Sept. 9.

The brothers are charged with 113 criminal acts, including the killings of five people. Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty.

The Carrs, of Dodge City, are charged with abducting five people from a Wichita home the night of Dec. 14, 2000, and shooting them in a soccer field. One of the victims survived, but Aaron Sander, Heather Muller, Brad Heyka and Jason Befort died.

The Carrs also are accused of killing Ann Walenta, 55, while she was sitting in her sport utility vehicle outside her east Wichita home Dec. 11, 2000. She died of her injuries Jan. 2, 2001.
