180 pounds of cocaine found in motor home
Winfield ? When a Winfield man bought a recreational vehicle at a sale in Oklahoma, he wasn’t expecting to find recreational drugs inside.
While doing some repair work on the vehicle, the man noticed a bag of white powder. He summoned police, who found 73 bags containing a total 180 pounds of cocaine inside a hidden compartment.
The cocaine’s street value was estimated at $1 million, police said Wednesday.
Police said the unsuspecting owner, whose name was not released, bought the RV in Oklahoma this year and was aware it had been obtained in a drug forfeiture proceeding.
“He bought it at a sale, knowing it was a drug-seizure vehicle,” Assistant Chief of Police Tom Nigh said, adding that the owner was “totally a victim in this.”
