What follows are the most recent Kansas National Guard deployments. Not all soldiers from each unit were deployed for these missions.

2002: 2nd Battalion, 137th Infantry to European theater to provide security at U.S. Military installations, Operation Enduring Freedom (some soldiers who took part in Operation Desert Spring volunteered to go on this mission, as well).

2001: Various elements of the Kansas Army and Air National Guard were deployed within the state on short-term missions to provide force protection, infrastructure security and airport security in the aftermath of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. Some of these missions extended into 2002.
