Five shot, killed in KCK

? Five people were killed and two others were injured in shootings Monday, including three people who were apparently killed together.

Detectives believe the killings are related, said Officer Todd Taylor of the Kansas City, Kan., Police Department.

Two people were being sought for questioning, he said.

Police responded to the first shooting around 3 a.m., but there was no victim at the scene. They later found the victim at a convenience store in neighboring Johnson County.

About an hour later, police, responding to reports of shots, found a 34-year-old man shot to death inside a home and a 23-year-old woman’s body in the back yard. The body of a 24-year-old woman was discovered across the street.

A 27-year-old man who had been shot at the home managed to flee and was treated at a hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Detectives were trying to link the shootings with two other morning shootings at different spots in the city. A 24-year-old woman was found shot to death on the city’s east side around 5 a.m. Another 26-year-old woman was found shot to death around 9 a.m. in the city’s midsection.
