Letter to the editor: On Venezuela

To the editor:

We never saw much about Venezuela on the news until a woman, Venezuelan Maria Corina Machada, was awarded the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize on Oct. 10 of this year. Now that country is in the news nearly every day. Apparently, it is OK for our government to kill Venezuelan drug traffickers on boats in international waters, board Venezuelan oil tankers and steal Venezuelan oil. It probably isn’t the straight line that it appears to be.
