Several outfits are shown on Oct. 20, 2022 as part of the "What Were You Wearing?" exhibit at the Kansas Union on the KU campus.

The University of Kansas has long been affiliated with a unique exhibition that tells the stories of survivors of sexual assault by displaying representations of the outfits they were wearing while assaulted. The “What Were You Wearing?” exhibit makes appearances across the country, but Jen Brockman, director of the Sexual Assault Prevention and Education Center at KU, was part of the duo who created the first exhibition in 2013 at the University of Arkansas, according to information provided by KU.

The exhibit has been displayed at KU several times, and is currently open to the public through Oct. 29 in the Gallery Room at the Kansas Union on KU’s Lawrence campus.

Here are several photos from the exhibit, which in addition to the outfits also includes information about several resources for people who have been affected by sexual assault.
