A visitor walks through the sunflower field at Grinter Farms, Monday, Sept. 7, 2020, near Lawrence. The 26-acre field, planted annually by the Grinter family, draws thousands of visitors during the weeklong late summer blossoming of the flowers.
Grinter Farms will be featured on “CBS News Sunday Morning” this weekend for its annual sunflower fields.
According to a post on CBS News’ website, this Sunday’s edition will feature correspondent Mo Rocca speaking with Ted and Kris Grinter about their farm. They’ll talk about how it becomes a tourist attraction for two weeks around Labor Day when the acres of sunflowers come into bloom and attract thousands to fields near U.S. Highway 24-40 a few miles south of Tonganoxie.
The show airs at 8 a.m. Sunday on CBS. It also can be streamed on the CBS News app beginning at 11 a.m. Sunday.
