Douglas County Appraiser’s Office to mail 6,600 change of value notices May 1 for personal property

The Douglas County Appraiser’s Office will mail 6,600 notices informing residents about their personal property’s appraised and assessed value for the 2025 tax year.

Change of Value notices will be mailed on May 1 and will include valuation details for properties such as mobile homes, commercial machinery and equipment, off-road motorcycles, all-terrain vehicles, worksite utility vehicles, race cars, camping trailers and watercraft.

According to a news release from Douglas County, personal property owners should inform the Appraiser’s Office of any changes, including the purchase of new property, the sale of personal property, changes in its use or changes in the property’s storage location.

Property owners who wish to appeal their valuation must contact the Personal Property Division of the Appraiser’s Office by 5 p.m. Thursday, May 15. Appeal submissions may be mailed, dropped off at the office in the basement of the County Courthouse at 1100 Massachusetts St. or emailed to personalproperty@dgcoks.gov.
