In celebration of Indigenous Peoples Day, the University of Kansas’ First Nations Student Association has a number of events planned for next week.

Indigenous Peoples Day will take place on Monday, with the occasion marked by the annual tipi raising on the lawn of Strong hall at noon. Later that afternoon at 3 p.m., FNSA will host a student panel celebrating native identities at the Office of Multicultural Affairs in Sabatini Multicultural Resource Center.

Recognitions of Indigenous Peoples Day are set to continue throughout the week, starting with another panel discussion at 4 p.m. in the Jayhawk Room at KU Memorial Union. On Wednesday, the American Indian Science and Engineering Society will host a lunch-and-learn event at the Office of Multicultural Affairs.

Per a social media post from FNSA on Monday, more information about a Thursday movie night event and other Indigenous Peoples Day celebrations slated for Friday and Saturday will be released later this week.
