KU’s Lawrence campus to reopen at noon today, as power has been restored to KU buildings

KU’s Lawrence campus is reopening at noon today, university officials announced. All power has been restored to the campus. As of about 11 a.m., Evergy was reporting seven power outages that were impacting about 80 customers in the Lawrence area.

The University of Kansas’ Lawrence campus is closed until at least noon today due to widespread power outages, a university officials announced Monday morning.

Thunderstorms rolled through the Lawrence area on Monday morning.

KU officials said all classes scheduled for Monday morning had been canceled at the Lawrence campus. KU’s Edwards Campus in Johnson County remains open.

An additional update will be provided at 10:30 a.m. regarding whether the Lawrence campus will reopen at noon.

As of about 8 a.m. on Monday, Evergy was reporting 61 power outages that had impacted about 2,100 customers in the Lawrence area.
