Happy Tuesday-leading-up-to-a-holiday-weekend! I'm sorry I didn't post yesterday. I've been busy wrapping up some loose ends. More on that below.

Well, it's been one of the worst-kept secrets of 2011, but it's time to officially announce that Friday, July 1, is my last day here at LJWorld.com.

I've accepted a position as a consultant at Digital Evolution Group in Overland Park.

Despite the 24/7 nature of this gig, I will miss interacting with you on a daily (and nightly and hourly) basis. I've enjoyed getting to know our online community, hearing your opinions and sharing laughs. And there were definitely some laughs. I've also learned a lot about the more somber details of community moderating. And as there are funny moments, there are serious ones, as well.

I'll continue moderating the site through Friday afternoon. If you need anything before then, I'm here for you. After that, Jonathan Kealing is your man.

People will miss your end and some of us will never get to eat your brownie so I guess this is a sad day but that is ok as life goes on, maybe there will be a Jonathan's end taking up space round here. Good luck with your new job! I always thought that you and Hollis made a cute couple!

Was actually thinking about that too and wondering if she was going to tell us before she leaves. You will be very, very, missed. Friday doesn't give us long to plan one final mischievous prank though. But could you open a back door before you leave?

Had to take some time to chime on this because it bummed me out so much. I read RoeDapple's post and got excited because the idea of interacting with an actual God was really cool. But then you come along and tell us that Whitney is in fact not a real god. This whole thing has been an emotional roller coaster.

I tried to make cornbread squares in the perfect brownie pan and forgot to spray Pam all over it. Big mistake. Now I have ridiculous mess on my hands. I might have to let the whole thing soak overnight in order to clean it properly.

It's a holiday weekend, so there's an extra day of planning I need to do before I go. Though I do have to turn in my company equipment prior to 5 p.m., so maybe more like 4:55 p.m.

Whitney, Best of luck in your new position. (I hope it was by choice!) Will you move there, or will you be a commuter? Just know that if you live here but decide to commute, you will have a LOT of company. Before you close the door this last time, consider leaving your pearls of wisdom that you have learned while here, inquiring minds want to know.

Finally, if you do ever miss it, I'm sure there will always be a chair for you to come back to as you know you're pretty popular here!
