Only if I can see them with my eyes closed from my bedroom. I refer to this as the mosquito big eat! Any more of you old hippies remember the big eat? Woof!!

... waste of time, money, and resources. Celebrate America by hiking, biking, camping, walking, and enjoying the outdoors. Watching Chinese-made fireworks explode overhead is akin to flushing money down the toilet.

Will not be in town, but not sure if I'd go if I were. Possible if the Alfred Packer Band is really going to be there, but again, moot point! Got pretty spoiled - family friend who LOVES fireworks does a "private" party with about $15,000 worth of fireworks every year. Way out in the country, but you can still see them for miles so many get to enjoy.
Also, had a friend tell me they went to a fireworks display in Hanover, KS (north west an hour & a half or so) this past weekend. Said it was great - pyrotechnics set to music (much like the beer commercial that had Christmas lights set to music a couple years back) that was really spectacular. Said I should plan to attend next year so will keep that in mind.

Waste of money for something that scares the crap out the children and adults only go to for the children.
It would be better to have some sort of downtown close off where everyone can get together and eat watermelon and hot dogs while listening to some terrible band like Three Dog Night.

Rogue Thrill, sounds like you have nothing better to do but complain. I'll be there and i think that i might get that hot dog and watermelon at some of the concession stands that will be there at the park!!!! why don't you join me?!!!

Went last year. Couldn't see the fireworks because the trees were in the way. I'll go if you cut down the trees.

Shooting off fireworks is fun. Watching someone else do it is like watching paint dry. I won't bother with it.

Spirit of Kansas in TOPEKA is waaaaaaay better!!!! Atmosphere is awesome around the lake!!!
