Former Kansas University quarterback Dayne Crist signed a free-agent contract with the Baltimore Ravens on Wednesday. Crist, who attended minicamp over the weekend with the Kansas City Chiefs, will join the Super Bowl champion Ravens immediately for organized team activities (OTAs).

Crist started at quarterback in seven games and played in four others. He completed 103 of 216 passes for 1,313 yards.

Crist is one of nine Jayhawks to get an opportunity with an NFL team this spring.

Tanner Hawkinson was a fifth-round draft pick of the Cincinnati Bengals, while Tunde Bakare (Bears), Greg Brown (Chargers), Trevor Marrongelli (Lions), Bradley McDougald (Chiefs), Toben Opurum (Chiefs), Josh Williams (Bears) and Duane Zlatnik (Jaguars) have attended a minicamp or signed as a free agent.

For these activities agents and contacts are key. Crist can also thank HCCW for helping with these opportunities and introductions. Ozzie Newsom, Raven's GM, is known for collecting pieces that can be used later on. Must also mean Baty impressed KC.
