Jefferson County man sentenced to 3 years on probation in child pornography case

A 66-year-old Nortonville man was placed on three years’ intensive supervised probation Friday in Jefferson County District Court after pleading guilty in December to one count of child pornography.

Burton K. Tribble could face up to 32 months in prison if he violates his probation terms, said Jason Belveal, Jefferson County Attorney.

An additional charge of child exploitation was dropped as part of a plea deal with prosecutors.

Belveal said another Kansas law enforcement agency identified Tribble as a potential possessor of child pornography in 2012, and his office began investigating.
