A structure fire was reported late Saturday night at a house at 1564 North 600 Road.
Palmyra Fire Chief Randy DeMersseman said the two-story house was unoccupied and very old. It burned down completely.
"It was fully engulfed when the fire department arrived," DeMersseman said.
Wakarusa, Palmyra and Willow Springs townships helped to extinguish the flames.
No one was inside the abandoned house and officials are still investigating how the fire started.

I live about a 1/2 mile from this and although it doesn't seem serious, they (emergency crews) have been at it for over an hour and I've seen multiple emergency vehicles enter and exit the area! I hope everything is okay.

I live nearby too. How does a fire start in a vacant house when the electricity is off? Sounds fishy to me. Sure weren't any lightning storms.
