One man received nonlife-threatening injuries Friday after a collision between his motorcycle and a vehicle about 8 p.m. near the intersection of Peterson and Edinburgh roads, according to Lawrence Police Sgt. Craig Shanks.
Shanks said the motorcycle was eastbound on Peterson Road when an eastbound vehicle hit its back tire, causing the motorcycle to crash. The rider was airlifted to a Kansas City hospital. Shanks said police are considering speed and alcohol as possible factors for the accident.

headline sats......Man injured after motorcycle vehicle collision
...must have tripped and fell after the accident, huh? After all, he probably was too intoxicated to walk in public.

This is the second story I read today about a person that did not have life threatening injuries being airlifted out of Lawrence. Why does this town even have a hospital?

It doesn't.

Perhaps he was airlifted because he got drug 400 feet and broke all but one hand. Perhaps it is better to be safe than sorry.
