A 38-year-old Lawrence man was acquitted of one charge of theft but convicted on a count of domestic battery Friday by a Douglas County jury.
Gary D. Perkins was found not guilty for his involvement in a Feb. 29 theft in the 4600 block of West Sixth Street. The domestic battery conviction stemmed from an incident in May. Perkins’ trial, which was heard in Douglas County District Judge Sally Pokorny’s courtroom, began Wednesday morning.
