Three days after winning a regional championship, Lawrence High’s baseball team now knows its next opponent.

The Class 6A state tournament bracket was released Friday morning and the Lions (14-8) enter as the No. 7 seed. They will face No. 2 seed Blue Valley West (20-2) at 4 p.m. next Friday at Kansas University’s Hoglund Ballpark.

A first-round victory would advance LHS to a semifinal matchup the following day against No. 3 Olathe South (18-4) or No. 6 Wichita Heights (14-8).

Maize (21-1) earned the No. 1 seed and will face No. 8 Blue Valley North (14-8).

In the other first-round game, No. 4 Manhattan (18-4) will take on No. 5 Haysville-Campus (18-4).
