Gift to KU honors longtime administrator

A $10,000 gift to the Kansas University Honors Program will honor Jeff Weinberg, an assistant to the chancellor who has worked at KU for 42 years.

Weinberg’s former high school English teacher and longtime friend, Lavon Brosseau of Concordia, made the gift. Weinberg, who has entered phased retirement, will work part time next year as a faculty fellow in the KU Honors Program. He has also taught in the program.

Weinberg worked in the office of student financial aid and in the office of student affairs before joining the chancellor’s office in 1995. The gift will support additional opportunities for honors students.

Brosseau, in addition to giving $10,000 in support of Weinberg, also gave $10,000 for the Spencer Museum of Art to support gallery renovation and for the Jack and Levon Brosseau Creativity Award.
