Lawrence police officers used a Taser to subdue a man armed with a knife in the parking lot of Dillons, 1015 W. 23rd St. The incident started at about 11:45 p.m. Saturday.
Capt. Bill Cory said the man, a Lawrence resident, was believed to be suicidal. Police were able to get the knife away from the man and he was transported without injury to Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

As they were loading him into the ambulance, he told the medics "I wanted to die", as well as "life sucks"..
