Charge filed in knife incident
Douglas County prosecutors Wednesday filed an aggravated battery charge against a 42-year-old rural Lecompton man accused of cutting a man Tuesday night in an apartment in the 1800 block of West 26th Street.
Sgt. Trent McKinley, a Lawrence police spokesman, said police were called about 8:30 p.m. to a possible domestic disturbance and discovered the suspect, Eric David Lipp, in possession of two knives. He was taken into custody without incident, and officers later determined Lipp had an argument with another Lawrence man in the apartment. The victim had minor injuries after he alleged Lipp cut him. Douglas County District Attorney Charles Branson said prosecutors alleged the victim was injured with a box-cutter knife.
