Man pleads no contest to disorderly conduct charge

A Lawrence man pleaded no contest on Monday to a charge of disorderly conduct for fighting after a Jan. 26 incident.

Charles C. Harrison, 24, had initially been charged with aggravated assault following an incident where he and another man approached two friends waiting outside The Hawk for a ride home while holding a crowbar, police said.

Harrison was sentenced to six months of probation in the case.

The other man arrested in the case, Jeffrey B. Christian Jr., is set to appear in Douglas County District Court on April 30.
