A Eudora High School English teacher has been charged in Sedgwick County District Court after being arrested on charges related to an improper relationship with a 15-year-old girl in the Wichita area.
The man, a 32-year-old Lawrence resident, has been charged with two counts of indecent liberties with a child, indicating fondling or touching, and two counts of aggravated indecent liberties with a child, indicating intercourse, according to Sedgwick County District Court spokeswoman Georgia Cole.
Cole said the charges all involve the same victim, and are alleged to have occurred in January 2010.
Kristin Magette, a spokeswoman for Eudora school district, said Monday that the man remains on paid administrative leave. He began work at the school district in August after teaching in the Wichita area.
The Journal-World does not generally identify sex crime suspects unless they are convicted.
The man is next scheduled to appear in court in Wichita at a preliminary hearing at 2 p.m. on April 9. He remains free on a $100,000 bond.
