Edgerton man arrested after report of road rage

Lawrence police arrested a 32-year-old Edgerton man on outstanding warrants Friday after he was involved in a dispute with his ex-girlfriend, a 24-year-old woman, over the possession of a Ford Taurus Friday morning in west Lawrence.

Sgt. Ted Bordman, a patrol supervisor, said the two were involved in an altercation at the intersection of Bob Billings Parkway and Kasold Drive. The woman was in the Ford Taurus with another male friend, and the man was in another car. The dispute continued as vehicles were driving around west Lawrence, and police were called about a road rage complaint.

Bordman said the 32-year-old man had run from officers and was caught after a foot chase just before noon in the 1000 block of Biltmore Drive. He suffered lacerations to his hand earlier when it was alleged he broke the window of the Taurus at Bob Billings Parkway and Kasold Drive. Officers were still investigating the incident Friday afternoon because the 32-year-old man alleged he was threatened with a weapon at the intersection.
