A rural Franklin County home was destroyed by fire early Friday, sheriff’s officials said.

All family members at the home southeast of Williamsburg escaped safely, said Master Deputy Jerrod Fredricks, a spokeswoman for the Franklin County Sheriff’s office. The fire was reported about 1 a.m. at 606 Delaware Road.

Fredricks said family members told officers they would be staying with relatives. The cause of the fire was still under investigation, but it may have started due to a wood-burning stove, Fredricks said.

I'm sure they lost things some of sentimental value and some of monetary value. The most valuable thing is that they still have each other. I wish them the best.

Note: I've actually driven through Williamsburg. Someone once said that some of the best barbecue is made there. I don't know as I never was there when the place was opened. Perhaps I'll try again someday.
