KU’s Audio-Reader accepting donations of records, CDs and other items for annual sale

June 15, 2012

Kansas University’s Audio-Reader Network, a reading and information service for people who are blind and print-disabled, is accepting donations of gently used audio equipment for its annual sale.

The service is also looking for vinyl records, CDs, musical instruments and DVDs for the annual For Your Ears Only sale. The sale is scheduled for Sept. 14-15 at the Douglas County Fairgrounds in Lawrence near 19th and Harper streets.

Donations may be brought to Audio-Reader, 1120 W. 11th St. A complete list of drop sites, with locations in Kansas City and Topeka, is available online at

AHHHHH!!! Why do they always schedule this the same weekend as Winfield?!?!? Please Audio Reader management/staff. This is a great event that music fans would love to take part in, but it is also on a weekend that many of the local music fans are out of town for another great event. I can't help but think this has a direct impact on the revenue you earn from the sale and it could be increased by simply moving a week earlier or later.

I couldn't agree more. Sure, you'll conflict with something any weekend. But, while certainly not every music-lover in Lawrence is at Winfield that weekend, around 1500 of them are. At least try moving it around by a week every few years...I've donated lots but I've never gotten to go.
