Two people were injured Wednesday morning after a two-vehicle crash near 23rd and Massachusetts streets, said Sgt. Trent McKinley, a Lawrence police spokesman.

Morgan Taylor Maxon, 21, of Topeka, turned left onto Massachusetts Street about 7:50 a.m. and struck a westbound 2001 black Hyundai vehicle on 23rd Street, driven by 48-year-old Michael Johnson, of Lawrence. McKinley said Maxon was cited for failing to yield while making a left turn. Belinda Rehmer, a Lawrence Memorial Hospital spokeswoman, said both Johnson and Maxon were treated and released later Wednesday.
