Lawrence Douglas County Fire-Medical crews are responding to a fire in the 2100 block of Heatherwood Drive, near Clinton Parkway and Kasold Drive.

As of about 7 p.m., the fire appeared to be out but some smoldering was still visible.

The structure affected appeared to be a duplex in the Peppertree Apartments complex.
