A 55-year-old Lane man at 1:20 p.m. Tuesday was in a field on his tractor pulling a hay baler when it caught fire near Virginia Road and Clark Terrace in southeastern Franklin County. The fire also burned about 50 bales of round hay, causing an estimated $10,000 in damage, according to a Franklin County Sheriff’s report.
