Police on Monday arrested a 55-year-old Lawrence man accused of threatening a 46-year-old man while exhibiting a knife.

Douglas County prosecutors Tuesday filed charges of aggravated assault and battery against the suspect, Isom J. Banks III.

Kim Murphree, a Lawrence police spokeswoman, said he was arrested about 11 a.m. in the 900 block of New Hampshire Street. Banks was taken to the Douglas County Jail. The two men were acquaintances, Murphree said.

A judge set his bond at $2,500 and scheduled his next hearing for July 17.
