A 27-year-old Lawrence man was injured and ticketed after hitting a pickup truck near 18th and Massachusetts streets. Police say the man failed to yield as he turned into the parking lot of the On the Rocks liquor store, 1818 Mass.

He was transported to Lawrence Memorial Hospital with what were believed to be nonlife-threatening injuries and his passenger, another 27-year-old Lawrence man, was treated by paramedics and released at the scene. The driver of the truck he hit, a 44-year-old Lawrence woman, was not hurt, Lawrence police Sgt. Randy Roberts said.

Police cited the injured driver for failing to yield to the right of way and driving without a license or insurance.
