Brian N. McCoy, 32, of Lawrence, pleaded no contest Tuesday in connection with three cases, including one in which he was accused of stealing a diamond ring in November 2011 from Hurst Fine Diamonds.
Cheryl Wright, a Douglas County District Attorney’s Office spokeswoman, said McCoy pleaded to felony theft in the diamond ring case. He also pleaded no contest to misdemeanor criminal deprivation of property in a separate case and no contest to one count of distribution of methamphetamine and arranging sale of a controlled substance using a communication facility in another case filed earlier this year. District Judge Kay Huff also revoked McCoy’s probation in a 2011 misdemeanor theft case. Huff is scheduled to sentence him Aug. 7.
