There’s still no word on the appeal process for former KU quarterback Brock Berglund, who made more news last week by sending a press release penned by his attorney informing the media that KU had not released him to transfer.

Prior to Monday’s men’s basketball game against Texas A&M, KU athletic director Sheahon Zenger discussed the situation briefly.

“This is a teachable moment for everyone involved,” Zenger said. “And it’s about the fact that there is a right way to exit a program. I am confident that as the appeals process plays out, we will come to a good resolution, and I look forward to moving on with the players we have.”

Sources have said Berglund likely will be released, and it could come by the end of the week.

QB switches to Baylor

Former KU target Seth Russell, of Garland (Texas) High, has switched his commitment, moving from KU, where he committed last summer, to Baylor.

The 6-4, 195-pound dual-threat QB was recruited to KU by the previous coaching staff and had stuck with the Jayhawks after meeting Weis recently. Russell took his official visit to Baylor last weekend.

Crawley commits to CU

Four-star cornerback Kenneth Crawley, of Washington D.C., announced on Twitter that he had orally committed to Colorado, where he will join two of his high school teammates, including defensive end and former KU commitment De’Jon Wilson.

Crawley, 6-1, 170, visited KU over the weekend.

Love Zenger's comment "teachable moment" ... means, KU screwed up. Love how he indicates there is a right way ... yet it is announced that KU is releasing him. Give me a break, just give the guy the release and let him find a place to play.
