Newton ? Lawrence High senior wrestlers Reece Wright-Conklin (182 pounds) and Nick Pursel (170) each won three matches Friday to reach tonight’s finals in the Newton Tournament.

Lawrence held third place among 24 schools after the first day. Tulsa Union led with 145 points, followed by Arkansas City with 125, Lawrence High with 107, Newton with 93, Andover Central with 86 1/2 and Gardner-Edgerton with 86.

Tristan Star, Garrett Girard, Hunter Haralson, Caden Lynch, Ryan Bellinger, Andrew Denning, Ryan Schulteis and Brad Wilson also advanced to today’s competition for the Lions.
