A 43-year-old Lawrence woman was taken to an area hospital after a two-vehicle accident about 7:35 a.m. Monday on Interstate 70 west of Lawrence, according to the Kansas Turnpike Authority.

The crash occurred about one mile west of the Lecompton interchange in the westbound lanes. Travis M. Haas, 37, of Lawrence in a 2002 Isuzu sport-utility vehicle in the inside lane attempted to change lanes to the right but then swerved to avoid a 1986 Chevrolet truck that was in the center lane. Haas then lost control of the SUV and struck the truck and the median wall several times, according to the accident report.

Haas and Paul C. Hahn, 47, of Lawrence, the driver of the truck were not injured. Rice was a passenger in Haas’ vehicle. Everyone was wearing a seat belt.

You haven't lived until you've done a 360 at 70 mph.

I would love to hear an update on the injured lady's condition.

Hi Paul, (friends of the driver and the injured passenger) she's sore and some bruises, etc... but she's home now. Thankful there weren't any life-threatening injuries to anyone involved!
