A motorcycle driver was transported to a Topeka hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening after her motorcycle left the road as she was traveling north on Wellman Road in Jefferson County, just north of the Jefferson-Douglas county line, Jefferson County Sheriff Jeff Herrig said.
The driver, 44-year-old Joyce Poitevint of rural Oskaloosa, failed to negotiate a curve in the road and left the roadway, Herrig said.
The accident occurred about 7 p.m. Monday, he said.
