Maryland man charged with two local robberies arrested on Delaware robbery warrant

A 35-year-old Maryland man who pleaded not guilty Tuesday to two robbery charges in Douglas County District Court was arrested Wednesday morning on a robbery warrant out of Delaware.

Daniel C. Cisneros, of Elkton, Md., is charged with a Nov. 25 robbery at Zarco 66 convenience store, 1500 E. 23rd St., as well as a Nov. 26 attempted robbery at Kwik Shop, 1611 E. 23rd St.

Cisneros had been free on $10,000 bond until his arrest Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the 1700 block of Tennessee Street.

Sgt. Steve Lewis of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said the Delaware warrant is out of Newscastle County and is for first-degree robbery and criminal display of a weapon.

Calls to Newscastle County police were not immediately returned.

Cisneros, who police say was in Lawrence visiting relatives, is scheduled for trial April 24.
