A 48-year-old Wellsville man was killed in a motorcycle accident Sunday morning, according to the Franklin County Sheriff's Office.
Charles H. Hale was riding his 2001 Harley-Davidson motorcycle south on Vermont Road near Thomas Road in Wellsville when he lost control of the motorcycle.
Hale died at the scene.

Sad to hear of this tragic event. Motorcycles are only as safe as the riders who ride them, but sometimes even the riders have no control over deer, idiot car drivers, etc. Helmets are a big factor in reducing deaths, and I'd like to see Kansas instill a helmet law.

It was foggy that night. May not have detected the curve in time. It's marked with signs, though.
