They will not improve until they get a real coach. Talented young women with no leadership.

So a 6th year coach that has taken the team to state twice isn't a real coach?

I didn't know that Dirk was coaching the volleyball team too.

Oh my, this team only had a handful of practices before the first match against a top 5 KVA preseason ranked team (see http://www.catchitkansas.com/sports/volleyball/). They dominated BVW initially and took them to 5 games. This team showed signs of defensive grit and offensive quickness that will go a long way this season. They will improve and be very good. I look froward to Coach Magnuson's leadership as they grow in the sport this season.

Homey needs to work on the attitude. That sort of thing rubs off and certainly won't help the girls this fall. Taking BVW to five sets is no small feat.

While not familiar with Coach M's day-to-day work, I have noticed that raw early season teams are almost always much improved by the end of the year, and consistently finish well.
