Douglas County prosecutors have dismissed aggravated assault and battery charges against a 55-year-old Lawrence man accused of threatening another man with a knife in July.

Cheryl Wright, a spokeswoman for the Douglas County District Attorney’s Office, said the case was dismissed at the request of the victim. Isom J. Banks III was facing a preliminary hearing in the case on Tuesday.

Lawrence police said Banks was arrested July 10 in the 900 block of New Hampshire Street. The victim was a 46-year-old Lawrence man, and police said they were acquaintances.
