A 76-year-old Overbrook woman was taken to Lawrence Memorial Hospital late Wednesday morning after a three-vehicle crash near Iowa Street and Yale Road.
Sgt. Trent McKinley, a Lawrence police spokesman, said Jill Penrod, of Overbrook, at 11:45 a.m. failed to yield as she turned left onto Yale Road. A southbound vehicle struck Penrod’s vehicle, and the collision caused Penrod’s vehicle to strike another one that stopped and was facing east. Penrod was given a citation, and her injuries were not believed to be life threatening, McKinley said.
