Overland Park ? Lawrence High’s baseball team rallied for a tie in the seventh inning but fell to Shawnee Mission South, 3-2 in nine innings Thursday.

The Lions fell behind 2-0 in the first inning but scored single runs in the sixth and seventh to send the game into extra innings.

“We hit a lot of balls right at people, but we got beat, and that’s the bottom line,” LHS coach Brad Stoll said. “Hats off to Shawnee Mission South.”
