Charge dismissed in domestic case

Douglas County prosecutors on Wednesday dismissed an aggravated assault charge against a 32-year-old Lawrence man accused in a March domestic incident.

Assistant District Attorney Catherine Decena Skinner said after a preliminary hearing Wednesday that the victim testified and accused William D. Glover Jr. of choking her until she felt she would pass out and throwing her against a wall causing her to black out, during an incident March 23 in the 2500 block of Redbud Lane. But Skinner said there was no evidence during the hearing to support the aggravated assault charge that Glover threatened the woman with a knife.

The woman was taken by a friend to Lawrence Memorial Hospital, where police interviewed her. An arraignment in the case is scheduled for Monday.
