Wright-Conklin places fourth at national wrestling tourney

? Lawrence High senior Reece Wright-Conklin earned All-America honors and finished in fourth place in the senior 182-pound division at the National High School Coaches Association Wrestling Championships, which took place over the weekend.

Wright-Conklin, the reigning Class 6A state champion, took down state champions from Nebraska, Missouri, California and Oklahoma as he was named the first wrestling All-American in Lawrence High history.

Coming into the tourney, he had 136 victories, 85 pins, four Sunflower League crowns, four regional titles and three state championships in his career.
