LHS baseball rips Shawnee Heights

? Trevor Champagne went 2-for-4 with four RBIs, and CJ Stuever and Troy Willoughby each had three hits as Lawrence High cruised past Shawnee Heights — the undefeated Class 5A state baseball champion a year ago — 11-4 on Saturday at Lake Shawnee.

“(Heights) lost some key guys, but they’re still a big, athletic team,” LHS coach Brad Stoll said. “We played very well offensively. We didn’t pitch with the lead very effectively, but when you score 11 runs, that can win you some games.”

Lawrence (3-2) will host Olathe South on Tuesday.
