Topeka man released from LMH after rollover accident on U.S. Highway 40

A 29-year-old Topeka man was treated and released from Lawrence Memorial Hospital after he was injured in a rollover accident Monday afternoon on U.S. Highway 40 about 9 miles west of Lawrence, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.

The accident report said Daniel Gregory Joshua Whedon, 29, was driving a 1996 Oldsmobile car west on the highway at 12:30 p.m. The vehicle left the highway onto the north shoulder, and Wheldon overcorrected and steered it back across the highway into the south ditch before it went down an embankment and flipped. The car came to rest in a pasture on its wheels.

Wheldon was wearing his seat belt, and Belinda Rehmer, an LMH spokeswoman, said Tuesday he was treated and released.
