One man was hospitalized after a rollover accident on U.S. Highway 40 on Monday afternoon. A single car left the roadway, about nine miles west of Lawrence, from the north shoulder, over corrected and then flipped into the south ditch. The car landed on its wheels, but facing the opposite direction, according to Kansas Highway Patrol reports. The driver, a 29-year-old Topeka man, was treated and released at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

ANOTHER ROLL OVER!!!! SO MANY IN THE NEWS THESE DAYS, COULD IT BE THAT PEOPLE ARE DOING SOMETHING OTHER THAN DRIVING ,SAD , THEIR ATTENTION SHOULD ONLY BE ON THE ROAD AND NOTHING ELSE. I HOPE THAT PEOPLE GET THAT BEFORE THEY GET KILLED OR WORSE WIPE OUT A FAMILY. COULD IT BE THAT SINCE TEXING IS IMPORTANT TO PEOPLE THAT THEY DIVERT THEIR ATTENTION FOR A FEW SECONDS FROM THE WHEEL, I'VE SEEN THIS HAPPEN OVER AND OVER. I ALWAYS OBJECT STRONGLY WHEN I SEE SOMEONE I KNOW DO THIS, THEY REALLY THINK ITS NO BIG DEAL AND THEY CAN HANDLE IT, I WONDER HOW MANY OF THESE ROLLOVERS HAPPEN FROM PEOPLE BEING ON THE PHONE TALKING OR TEXING.

Texting kills, but mostly distracted driving. I think instead of a ticket "slap on the wrist" that the police DON"T issue to anybody (unless the already wrecked their car), they should be arrested & then fined. Maybe a lil stiffer punishment would deter some people......Just a thought.

I blame the squirrels, darting in front of the car, sometimes even jumping into open windows. Don't brake for squirrels.
